Legal & site information

Privacy Policy

This policy explains how majorelle-garden-guide.com handles personal data collected through this website. It applies to visitors who browse the site or send a message through the contact form.

Majorelle Garden Guide is an independent travel guide about the jardin majorelle in Marrakech. We do not sell tickets, take bookings, or run a checkout of any kind, so the personal data we handle is limited to what you choose to send us and what our servers record while you read.

Data we collect

We collect the information you provide when you use the contact form, which may include your name, email address, and the content of your message.

A. Information you send us.

If you write to us about a visit to the majorelle garden, a correction to a page, or a photo credit, we keep your message so we can answer it. That includes your name and email address, which we use only to reply.

B. Technical data recorded automatically.

Standard server logs and analytics tools record limited technical data such as your browser type, approximate region, the pages you viewed, and the time of your visit. This tells us which guides people actually read, for example the history chapter or the Yves Saint Laurent page, and where a page fails to load.

C. What we do not ask for.

We do not ask for passport numbers, payment details, or booking references, because this site does not sell tickets. If a message ever arrives with that kind of information in it, we delete it once the query is answered.

How we use data

Two purposes, nothing else: answering you, and keeping the guide online and accurate.

Reply

Answering your message

Contact form data is used to respond to your message. If your question is about opening times or what to bring, we may point you to the relevant guide page rather than repeat it in an email.

Upkeep

Keeping the guide working

Technical data is used to understand how the site is used and to keep it working correctly — spotting broken pages, slow images, and the sections visitors read most.

What we deliberately leave out

We do not use your data for automated decision-making and we do not build profiles for advertising purposes. Nobody at this guide will send you a newsletter you did not ask for, and we do not hand your address to travel agencies or ticket resellers.

Legal basis

Consent

Contact form messages

Where required, we process contact form data on the basis of your consent, given when you submit the form. You can withdraw that consent at any time by asking us to delete the message.

Legitimate interest

Server logs and analytics

Technical data is processed on the basis of legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the site. We keep that processing to the minimum needed to keep pages loading and content accurate.

No other grounds

No sales, no contracts

Because we do not sell tickets or process bookings, there is no contract performance basis and no payment data to process on this website at all.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell personal data. The people who see your message are the people who need to answer it.

If you send us a correction about a page, for example a change in how the blue garden is described in a guidebook, we may keep the note on file while we check it.

Service providers.
We may share data with providers who help operate the site, such as hosting and analytics providers, under agreements that limit their use of the data to running the service.
Legal requirements.
We may disclose data if required by law, or where a valid request comes from a public authority that is entitled to make it.
Advertising and resale.
Your data is not sold, rented, or traded to advertisers, ticket resellers, or tour operators, and we do not pass on contact details for marketing use.

Retention

Contact form messages are kept for as long as needed to handle the query and any follow-up, after which they are deleted on request or when no longer needed.

Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and diagnostic purposes. After that window closes, the logs are cleared rather than archived.

Two clocks

  • Your messages

Held while the conversation is live and while we follow up. Ask us to delete it and we will, unless we are required to keep it.

  • Server logs

Kept for a short security and diagnostic window, then discarded. They are not used to reconstruct individual visits.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to object to processing, or to request a copy of the data we hold.

01

Ask what we hold

You can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you. In practice that means your messages to us and the technical records linked to your visit.

02

Correct or delete it

If something we hold is wrong, or you want it removed, say so and we will fix or delete it. There is no charge and no form to fill in beyond a message.

03

Object to processing

You can object to the technical data we record while you browse. Tell us and we will note the objection, though we may still keep the minimum needed to keep the site secure.

To make a request, contact us through the contact page. We will respond as soon as we can.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

If you believe a child has submitted personal data, contact us and we will remove it. Tell us roughly when the message was sent and we will find it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page, and there is no separate archive to check.

Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy. If a change affects how we handle contact form messages, we will say so plainly at the top of the page.

If your question is about visiting the garden rather than about data, the practical guide and the photo gallery are usually the faster route. Garden visiting hours vary by season, so check the official garden schedule before you travel.
